How amazing was being together again?! Thank you to everyone who braved our very first Covid-adapted morning worship meeting. It was such an encouragement to see each of you in your real-life forms and to get to finally partake of the bread and wine together. What a unique opportunity to be shaken from our routine in a way that allows us to appreciate afresh the privilege that it is to remember Jesus as a community!
“I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy… It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.” – Philippians 1:2-4, 7-11

“Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:5-7
Thank you to Aaron for such a great reminder of the focus we ought to have on God’s glory above our own. We would do well to follow Christ’s example in this, who never lost sight of the preeminence of the Father and His will in all that He did on earth. In doing so, we find not only our ultimate purpose, but also our deepest and most fulfilling joy.
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came…26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” – Ezekiel 36:22, 26&27
Thank you to Gary for powering through the technical difficulties to deliver a practical encouragement on how to handle those who openly oppose Christianity and the Bible. It’s so important to remember what it is that sets us apart – that is, the knowledge of God – and to have compassion for those who are living and operating in spiritual blindness.
“Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.” – John 15:20-21
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. – 1 Corinthians 2:14-16
Thank you to Jason for sharing some practical, Biblical advice for how to respond to the unique and difficult circumstances of our present day. We were reminded how important it is to listen to Christ, abide in His peace, practice wisdom, redeem each moment, remain steadfast, and embrace the present, all by the grace of God and the power of the Spirit. It’s truly amazing to see how applicable the Word of God is to every challenge we face, even 2,000 years after it was written!
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. – John 10:27-28
Thank you to all who joined this morning’s worship meeting, and to Ray for his challenging message about acknowledging God’s power to convict and engaging more wholeheartedly in sharing the Gospel with all those who need it. By God’s grace, may we be more faithful to confess and repent of our sin this week, and pray more intentionally for those who are not yet saved.

Thank you to Tom, Kendra and Bo for joining us in worship this morning, and for Tom’s encouraging message about the courage, intentionality, and resolve of Esther to do what honoured the Lord. We are so blessed by the courageous women in our lives and our own Assembly, who recognize the power that God has to impact others through their selfless commitment to serve Him.
